Oh my Lord. First day of year 10. Lovely. Went with some friends to school and ofc when I rock up to my homeroom I see my ex. Perfect! I was literally shaking in my boots and it was hella hot so I was sweating like a pig too and I couldn't even look him in the eyes. So I looked at the back of his head and when he turned in my direction I immediately pivoted the other way, faster than you could say Jack Robinson. I then had two science lessons and English/history with only one person I know being in those classes. I sat with her and three other people I didn't know very well but they're sweet, especially one girl who helped me be included when I was pretty quiet and off to the side. So the day wasn't bad or amazing, though it was good seeing my friends again.
After school I went straight to my hip hop class. I didn't really know anyone in that class but I don't have friends at my dance studio anyway. I have a really good teacher though, and it was so embarrassing because I was stiff af 😭. Hopefully that was just a first day back thing and not my talent disintergrating.
Today I hung out with my best friend for the last time for a year minimum and three maximum. I know, depressing. But we went and saw a wildlife photography exhibition and got lunch. It was lovely although sad of course. She's leaving for the Philippines in a couple of days.
I just came back from my week trip to Marion Bay. It was really good since I got to go with my bestie. My highlight would definitely be swimming at rock pools, my favourite one was pretty deep and clear, and I enjoyed jumping of the rocks into it. Another would be swimming at this salt lake, it was really nice since the salt allowed you to float really well. The only bad thing though was that I got bitten by a bull ant. It was not very fun. Also broke up with my boyfriend. Again, not so fun. But I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind so that was good.
I cannot believe I abandoned my blog for almost a month. Outrageous! Though I have been pretty busy, as I spent a week in Fiji then a day home to pack for Phillip Island and Melbourne the next day 😭. After I came back from that trip, it was New Years Eve.
To sum up those two trips, Fiji was pretty good as I went to a nice little island to go snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking and I saw a blacktip reef shark! Then in Phillip Island, I spent Christmas with my family and friends who I hadn't seen in a year. I went to the beach almost everyday and jetty jumped twice which was super fun even though it was freezing cold. After a couple days in Phillip Island we drove to Melbourne where we went to Chadstone mall, the Star Wars Lego exhibition, and the Westwood and Kawakubo exhibition. I was really tired on the day we went to the mall, but I bought a new pair of Nike Pros, a cute button up shirt from Universal, Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. I enjoyed the Star Wars Lego exhibition, and there was a galactic cafe which was pretty cool to eat at, though it was very busy. But the Westwood and Kawakuba exhibition was soooooo good! I loved every single look and how the exhibition was set up was so cool. As we walked through some of the last rooms, I always thought it was the last one, but it just kept going. It was definitely my favourite art exhibition I've ever saw, and 100% recommend seeing it if you're in Melbourne, its on from the 07/12/25 to 29/04/26.
New Years Eve was great to come back to after those trips. I had dinner with my bestie and my boyfriend at a Lebanese restaurant then we walked around before getting bubble tea and heading to the park for the fireworks. I loved watching the fireworks, but I always hate the song choices since it's always the top 100. They played Ordinary and Golden...anyway, I still enjoyed it and we listened to music being played at the stage before going home. When we got home, I played my new CD my boyfriend got me, which is Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me by The Cure while we chatted. After the countdown, my boyfriend left and my bestie, mum, and I watched Rage and danced in the living room. I was really happy since they played Girls and Boys by Blur. We finally went to sleep at 3am.
I had my first end of year show for dance today, I did my jazz routine which the theme was 70s Get Down. It was fun and I didn't mess up, but it wasn't my best. Tomorrow night I have my second show where I am doing hip hop. My boyfriend is coming so lowkey scared but excited.
Today we walked around my dream university's campus, the University of Melbourne. It was super exciting for me since I really really REALLY wanna go there. The old buildings are really pretty, and I liked the amount of nature on the campus. I also bought a pennant to hang in my room, I have a pinboard above my desk so I'll make a vision board in the holidays. After that, we went to a rooftop cocktail bar before getting ready for the concert. The concert was pretty good, I wasn't a huge fan of Doechii as I predicted, but Kendrick was enjoyable.
This morning I flew into Melbourne for the Kendrick Lamar and Doechii concert tomorrow, though I dislike Doechii and don't really listen to Kendrick Lamar, I love Melbourne so I agreed to come with my mother who wanted to see them. We're staying at the Langham Hotel which is soooo fancy and gorgina ! And they have christmas decorations up so it was even more pretty. The first thing we did was go to the mall, and we bought some things at Pandora, my mother got some stud earrings and I got silver hoops and my kris kringle present which was a paw print charm. After shopping, we saw the Women Photographers 1900-1975 exhibition at NGV. I enjoyed it though my legs were super tired from all the walking. After that, we went back to the hotel and had some cocktails (mine was nonalcoholic ofc) and a snack before having dinner with some family friends.
Today I had a student free day, which thank the universe for that perfect timing, I was so done with school. So I went into the city with me boyfriend and we got Maccas for lunch ofc then we walked down to My Dead Grandpa, a really cool beans vintage marketplace. I love that place sm even though it was my second time going. It is literally my dream place to work at while I'm in high school, I know I most likely won't get the job with no experience, but I'll apply soon anyway and if I don't get it I'll try for a retail job somewhere else so I can get the experience. Anyway, we were walking around looking at the clothes, CDs, vinyls, posters, and figurines and I found this really cute and rare bride troll and I wanted it so bad but because it was rare it was literally $50. I was so saddd !! And so I tried to find a CD I'd like but I searched everywhere and there are a lot, but I could not find one. I did find Pink Floyd, The Offspring, speedstar*, Aerosmith, Culture Club, and a live recording of David Bowie but I didn't think any of them were really worth begging my mother for them. Though speedstar* seems pretty good, and I low-key wanted to get Culture Club for my mum for Christmas but I'm too broke so I'll have to do DIY gifts this year :(. After we were done browsing My Dead Grandpa, we left to walk to the railway station and dude it was pouring !! I was in a short sleeve t-shirt and overalls and I got completely drenched and I was freezing cold. I knew it was gonna rain but not that fucking much, jeez. When I got home, I had a nice bath and then just chilled for the rest of the afternoon.
The summer break is coming up (superr exciteddd !!) so I will be doing a website revamp because it's pretty basic rn. I have zero ideas so we'll just see where this takes me. I'll probably start planning it first week of break, and the second week (Christmas week) I'll start working on it.
Guys...a kid in my class (English ofc nowhere else would this bullshit happen) got hairspray for some reason, and he had a lighter in his pocket. It's pretty obvious where this is going but he basically went behind the screen so the teacher won't see him because they were in the class room next door, then he sprayed the hairspray and lit it on fire. It was right near me so I saw it in my peripheral vision, and dude it was huge. AND HE ONLY GOT SUSPENDED FOR ONE DAY !!! Like wtf man he made a made makeshift flamethrower?!! 😭
Today I had my dance rehearsal. It was kinda scary since I have never been front centre for the end of year show which is pretty big for me. That was hip hop, and so I think I could have done better. Jazz was pretty good though I messed up the last little part. For costumes, my hip hop is low-key weird like it's a red tank and black jacket and cargos in this plasticky fabric that is so fucking loud when I move around, and we haven't got our jazz costumes yet but I think it'll be pretty cool beans because the theme is 70s. Anyway, I'm having another rehearsal in two weeks so hopefully it will go better.
Y'all I am home! I am soo happy to be back to normal bruv. I just did my photo dump from last weekend, not many there though. I decided to fix my sleep schedule so now I sleep at 9:00pm and wake up at 5:00am, it's goals but I wonder how long it's gonna last 😭. I'll try to stick to my routines but I always burn out eventually. I mean who knows, maybe this time will be different.
Dudeee I can't wait to go homeee! I get homesick so super easily. And I don't just mean my house, I mean like everything that makes me feel warm and safe like people and small moments. I have only felt like that recently for a small amount of time with my friends and my boyfriend, then it's back to being homesick again. I'm just looking forward to things going back to normal. I'm afraid this always happens when I'm away from home. I don't know why, and it sucks ass.
This weekend I watched The Princess Bride, and hung out with my boyfriend in the city. It was so cool because we went to the state library and there was this woman singing opera while a guy played the piano. It was beautiful watching it and looking at all the old books. After that, we walked around and got some food, met with his friends, and that was basically it. I took my digicam with me but I don't have my SD card reader where I'm staying, so I'll do a photo dump when I get home this Sunday.
I also finished Crime and Punishment recently, which in my Fable review I basically said it is worth the long time it took me to read it and it was dialogue heavy but overall an amazing and extremely thought-provoking novel. I am now reading You Like It Darker by Stephen King. Which just gave me an idea to add a little currently reading section somewhere on this page, so I'll make that sometime this week.
Today I had a mock trail for class, and OMD. We did pretty well and lots of people agreed that we should win, even people from the prosecution (I was on defence). AND WE LOST! It was such bullshit it was so obvious you could not prove the defendant guilty beyond reasonable doubt, THE MOTHERFUCKING EVIDENCE WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGHHHH! Seriously open your eyes jury.
Anywho, life has been pretty chill lately, I'm currently staying at a family friend's house since my mother is working overseas in Fiji. I really wish I was there with her since the resort is like really nice and fortunately I do get to go but in December. But idc about waiting, I'm super grateful to be able to go. It'll be sooo good especially since it is straight after school finishes.
I can't believe I only discovered riot grrrl recently! Like oml how could I have lived a second without it. I am now a worshipper of Bikini Kill 😁, but my favourite band has to be Jack Off Jill. So I believe this calls for a riot grrrl shrine. Stay tunedd!
While I'm making a blog post on music, I have to mention a new spotify artist as of April this year, meadow scott. She currently has two singles out and a bunch more demos on her SoundCloud, I am begging you to check her out. I found her music since I had been watching her YouTube vlogs (which are also great), I just love her vibe.
Today I was meant to have a debate on "If you have not agreed to a law, it means you do not have to follow it." (thank god I was on the negative team). It was supposed to happen last week but we ran out of time.
For the first two lessons of the day, my brain was not functioning. Like I was super tired and had a bit of a headache, so there was no way I could get up in front of my whole class and speak let alone do a rebuttal on the spot. So I ended up going home early, even though I actually wanted to do that debate. It sucks because I was so ready for it last week, but when it finally came around, I just didn't feel like I could do it.
At least I got some rest once I got home. Oh, and I finally chose my opinion piece topic for English (it only took me five days 😭), I'm doing "Cosmetic surgery is not morally justifiable".
Update 22/10/2025: I am now doing "The Punk Scene Needed Riot Grrrl" as my opinion piece because it is wayyyy better
This weekend was pretty fun! On Friday night, my bestie came over and we went on a walk to the park and cemetery before heading home for lasagna because we are Garfield. We played the Game of Life (which I won 😁) and Monopoly, though we sadly didn't finish Monopoly.
On Saturday, I had my hip hop and jazz dance classes. We did circuit workouts in both, which was so tiring 😭. But my jazz teacher, who was filling in for my hip hop teacher, complimented my dancing so that absolutely made my day. Later, I went to an Asia festival with my mother and got peking duck pancakes, a pork bao bun, a samosa, and a mango lassi. We walked around and saw these really pretty lanterns that silly me didn't take any photos of.
On Sunday, I went to the cinemas with my boyfriend to watch this really good film 'Roofman'. After the movie, we grabbed burritos and doughnuts and walked around for a bit. I was pretty tired after that, so I just chilled for the rest of the night before having to wake up to a new week of school.
First day of term 4 was today! I got like 4 hours sleep last night so that was great preparation! My day ended up pretty tiring. It was still fun seeing my friends again, but STEM in particular was horrid since we had to sit and listen to the teachers yap about what we'll be learning this term. We're doing this project to make a holder thingo for a test tube to grow a plant clipping out of while learning about plants, biodiversity, and that type of stuff. The worst part is, we have to do a maths and science report! I mean science reports are great when it comes to biology, but I despise maths reports, despite maths being my favourite subject and loving writing.
The second lesson we got to go to the botanical gardens though so that was really good. Global perspectives was an interesting lesson, our teacher yapped about a deserted island scenario and connected to law and stuff which was actually pretty good. Then I had my least favourite class, English. Like OMG, I loveee the subject, but when it's with my class and my teacher, it's the absolute worst. We were just introduced to the topic for the term and assessments and we're doing it all on exam.net 💀. Our teacher was saying how he wanted to prevent ai usage, but that's rich coming from him since his lesson scream chatgpt and even if they aren't he basically gives out A's since I didn't even complete an oral assessment because I was away and he gave me an A 😭. But anywho, we get to write an opinion piece so that means I can yap about an issue like I just did 2 seconds ago 😀. And finally after school, I chickened out of my hip hop competition team audition (probably was a bad decision like just do it girl tf) and stayed home reading, working on making a game, and watching suits.
